What is Suicide Prevention?

What Does Suicide Prevention Entail?

The CDC created a group of strategies that aim to prevent or reduce suicide. This approach:

  • Uses data to drive decision-making
  • Implements and evaluates multiple prevention strategies
  • Works to prevent the risk of suicide in the first place and lessen the immediate and long-term harms of suicidal behavior
  • Convenes and connects multiple sectors and partnerships
