Get Trained to Help
Get Trained to Help is a one-stop website where anyone who lives and/or works in Clackamas, Washington, or Multnomah Counties can access free mental health awareness and suicide prevention classes.
Suicide prevention and mental health awareness classes you can find on the Get Trained to Help website include:
- Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) - A 2-hour, introductory training for anyone 18+ wanting to learn how to help a person with thoughts of suicide.
- Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) - A 2-day, interactive workshop for individuals 18+ that teaches you how to recognize when someone might be having thoughts of suicide and work with them to create a plan that will support their immediate safety.
- Counseling on Access to Lethal Means (CALM) - A 6-hour course for individuals 18+ regarding how to reduce access to lethal means for people experiencing thoughts of suicide.
- Youth Mental Health First Aid - An 8-hour course for individuals 18+ to support young people experiencing mental health issues, addictions challenges, or a crisis.
- Adult Mental Health First Aid - An 8-hour course for individuals 18+ to provide you with the tools to aid people experiencing mental health challenges, including the signs and symptoms of mental health issues and how to safely offer connections to support.

Suicide Prevention Coalition of Clackamas County
Are you a youth or parent/caregiver who is interested in getting involved? The Suicide Prevention Coalition of Clackamas County (SPCC) meetings occur virtually every quarter and include a presentation or educational opportunity specific to the field of suicide prevention.
The Coalition and associated Action Teams work to advance the strategic directions identified in Clackamas County's Suicide Prevention Strategic Plan. Meetings and Action Teams are open to all! Attending Coalition meetings or joining an Action Team is one of your best ways to have a voice and get involved in moving suicide prevention efforts forward in our community.
