The Suicide Prevention Coalition of Clackamas County (SPCCC) was established in October 2018 to inform the County’s suicide prevention efforts.

Clackamas County embraces the Zero Suicide system-wide approach, which includes:

  • Required suicide prevention training for staff.
  • Policies and procedures to support and sustain the work of suicide prevention.
  • Universal suicide risk-screening at behavioral health, primary care, and urgent mental health walk in clinics.

Take a look at more of the SPCCC's initiatives below.

About Compass to Connection

Compass to Connection grew from conversations with community members seeking guidance navigating complex issues related to mental health. The Youth and Young Adult Action Team (YYAAT) of the Suicide Prevention Coalition of Clackamas County saw the opportunity for innovative resource development to meet the demands of the community. This app would not have been possible without a dedicated team of volunteers, and the continued support of Clackamas Education Service District and LRIS Mobile Apps.

Every possible effort will be taken to maintain up to date and relevant resources on this app. If you believe something is missing or you find inaccurate information, we would appreciate you letting us know. Please click here

How to Get Involved with the SPCCC

The Suicide Prevention Coalition of Clackamas County's (SPCCC) Action Teams advance the work outlined in Clackamas County's suicide prevention strategic plan. These teams focus on different community-identified priority areas of suicide prevention.  All Coalition and Action Team meetings are virtual and open to the public, and we invite you to stop by and learn more about the exciting work happening in our county.

Joining an Action Team is one of your best ways to have a voice and get involved in moving suicide prevention efforts forward in our community. Learn more here: https://www.clackamas.us/publichealth/spc

Quarterly Coalition Meetings

These meetings are virtual and held quarterly. They include a report out on the work occurring in the Action Teams and usually include a presentation or educational opportunity specific to the field of suicide prevention.

For more information and/or to receive meeting invites, please contact the Clackamas County Mental Health Promotion and Suicide Prevention team.
